Density
Density can be defined as the mass contained in given volume. In other words we can also say that how close the the molecules of a matter reside will tell how dense the matter is.
Experiment of floating egg
To do this experiment we need one glass tumbler, salt, spoon, egg and water.
Steps
Pour some filtered water in the glass tumbler till half.
Now place the egg in it, the egg sinks.
Take out the egg, now add 2-3 table spoon salt into the water and stir well till it vanishes
Try to put the egg again in the tumbler containing salt water.
You will notice that the egg floats now.
The egg floats because it's density is not less than the salt water, similarly you will notice that oils like mustard oil or refined oil or wood floats on water because their density is less than water.
